We are delighted to welcome percussionist, composer, and improviser Sean Hamilton who will be giving a clinic on percussion and improvisation. He will also perform several works for percussion and electronics, including a collaboration with ASU dancer Sharon McCaman. Sean's interests lie in the intersections of new music, electroacoustic music, improvised music, experimental music, and interdisciplinary projects. This project features improvised compositions written to explore the symbiotic possibilities of acoustic and electronic sounds. Most often, the works serve as a form for improvising where the electronics interact with the drums by listening through microphones on the set or by generating "improvised" material using random numbers. All of the electronics are programmed using Pure Data.
